For Optimum Water Quality:
Use top quality water & shower filters plus a Grander water unit
The quality of water is determined by numerous factors. In my own home, I use a water filter for my drinking and cooking water. In addition, I use a separate shower filter. I also use a Grander water unit to revitalize all the water entering my home. (I also have a portable Grander water unit known as a Penergizer for travel.) While some people use a Grander water unit alone, it is important to realize that Grander water units are not filters. Using a Grander water unit will tremendously improve many physical, microbiological, and energetic characteristics of water. But a Grander water unit does not physically remove impurities from water. These impurities might include: lead, cadmium, and other heavy metals; cryptosporidium (cysts); giardia (cysts); chlorine; fluoride; numerous volatile organic compounds or VOCs; various organic contaminants; pesticides and other toxic chemicals; and trihalomethanes or THMs. In order to greatly reduce the levels of these impurities or contaminants, a high quality water filter must be used as your primary means of improving water quality. Besides the problem of consuming these impurities via drinking or cooking water, there is also the significant issue of absorbing them through the skin during a shower or bath. Where to start?
There are certainly compelling reasons to purchase all of these items. And valid arguments can be made as to the relative merits of each item. Based on my own personal experience, I would recommend these items in the following order of priority:

The many roles of WATER in the health of the body must be emphasized. No matter how good the diet is, the nutrients can provide the body little benefit if one remains chronically dehydrated through inadequate water intake. Water of poor quality is also a major contributing factor to a poor state of health.

Water Quantity
The QUANTITY of water intake is extremely important. For more information on the importance of an adequate quantity of daily water intake, please refer to the excellent book Your Body's Many Cries for Water by F. Batmanghelidj. As a bare daily minimum, one should consume one ounce for every two pounds of body weight, or approximately 33 millilitres for every kilogram of body mass. Please note that this amount is the bare minimum necessary to maintain health. Most people will require more to remain properly hydrated. In most cases it is best to increase water intake gradually, and in certain advanced degenerative conditions it may be necessary to undertake the process of bodily rehydration with proper supervision. The body's water needs cannot typically be met through the consumption of other beverages -- water is what the body requires, and only water will suffice. Most if not all other beverages actually make the underlying state of chronic dehydration even worse, for they have an overall dehydrating effect on the body. This includes coffee, tea, sodas, juices, etc.
Water Quality
The QUALITY of water is also a prime concern if we aim for the highest possible state of health. Much emphasis within the natural health community has been placed upon the physical purity of water, and to this end many types of water purification or filtration devices have been recommended. If we acquaint ourselves with the works of Viktor Schauberger and Johann Grander, it seems that the energetic qualities of water may be of even greater importance to our health. Simply put, it is not enough to have water that is chemically pure. While the various impurities may be removed from the water, typically the "memory" or "vibration" of these pollutants remains. And this "memory" that is stored in the water does indeed have quite a detrimental effect upon our health. Energetic and Physical Properties of Water Improved
Grander Water Units will improve not just the energetic properties of water, but also the physical properties. For example, reductions in surface tension have been reported through the use of Grander Water Units in both technical testing as well as in practical applications. Whether due to this reduction in surface tension or for other reasons, Grander water is a more effective solvent. Besides the health benefits of this wetter Grander water, such water is more effective for cleaning dishes, laundry, etc. This means that detergent use can be greatly reduced, and the temperature on the hot water heater can also be reduced -- both resulting in substantial cost and environmental savings. Plants and animals also benefit from the use of Grander water. Especially in Austria and Germany, where Grander water technology is more widespread at present, it is used extensively and with great success in hospitals, hotels, restaurants, swimming pools, factories, heating and cooling systems, farms, and elsewhere.
Microbiology of Water Improved
Water treated with Grander Water Units appears to inhibit the growth of unhealthy bacteria, and virtually wipe it out over time. When a Grander Water Unit is installed on an entire household, it is frequently observed that scale and other deposits within the plumbing lines will dissolve and disappear.
Silver Medal of Honour
On September 13, 2000, Johann Grander was awarded the Silver Medal of Honour from the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. This honor came as a result of over three years of investigation into Grander's work, which led to their conclusion that "Grander's method makes it possible to increase the energy and information properties of water and therefore to make it biologically more valuable."
This research concluded among other things that:
(1) Experiments conducted with Grander water technology showed a reduction in radioactivity in water.
(2) The Grander water technology markedly improves the microbiological condition of water over time -- the self-cleansing capacity of revitalized (Grander) water is greatly enhanced. Tests were done with Salmonella, coliform bacteria, Klebsiella, Legionella, Escherichia coli, etc. (Please note: the use of Grander technology does not immediately wipe out such pathogenic bacteria. Rather, once water is treated with a Grander water unit, over a period of days or weeks these bacteria will disappear from the water.)
(3) Grander water technology reduces the mutagenicity of drinking water. (When chlorinated water and organic substances are exposed to each other, this results in the formation of organochloride compounds, which are for the most part mutagenic. This is also the most common way that mutagenic substances are created.)

The government in Grander's native Austria has also honored Grander's efforts in water revitalization: on September 21, 2001, Johann Grander was awarded the prestigious Iron Cross for the environmental benefits of his Grander water technology.
